Israel violation of international law
The Israeli regime has for nearly seven decades denied Palestinians their fundamental rights and has spared no effort to change the demographic makeup of occupied Palestinian territories. In flagrant defiance of international regulations, Israel has pressed ahead with its construction of settler units, destroyed historical sites, and expelled the local Palestinian population. With the intensification of Israel’s atrocities, a global pro-Palestinian campaign which was formed in 2005 has gained widespread popularity. The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement also known as the BDS, calls for increasing economic and political pressure on Israel until the regime ends its occupation and violations of international law.
Harriri defends Hezbollah
More indications have appeared that show Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri is distancing itself from Saudi Arabia. Hariri who surprised by announcing resignation from office late last year after a visit to Saudi Arabia has voiced strong support for Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement. He has described Hezbollah as a part of his government whose presence he said was necessary for preserving Lebanon’s stability. That was seen by many as a clear defiance by Hariri against pressures by Saudi Arabia to confront the popular resistance group. And by doing this, Riyadh appears to have failed in what looks like to have been a complicated strategy to harm Hezbollah.
