A vengeful boyfriend who kidnapped and then dumped his former girlfriend’s toddler outside a Harlem building has been arrested, according to cops.
Antonio Staton, 22, turned himself in to cops Sunday around 1 a.m., police said.
The boy has been returned to his mother’s custody, officials said.
Staton, and the mother of the 22-month-old, had dropped the tot off at Patricia’s Childcare Services on W. 127th St. and Malcolm X. Blvd. Thursday morning, and then got into an argument shortly thereafter.
The couple went their separate ways, officials said.
Staton, who isn’t the child’s father, allegedly went back to the daycare and picked up the child.
Staff at the daycare who remembered him from earlier in the day released the child into his care, sources previously told the Daily News.
Staton left the toddler in the foyer of a townhouse on W. 132nd St., near Frederick Douglass Blvd. around 10:40 a.m. He put a table across the entrance to trap the child, cops have charged.
The crying boy was found about a half hour later by a woman who lived nearby, and spotted the tot behind the table, authorities said.
The child was in custody of the city’s Administration of Children’s Services as of Thursday night, and it was not immediately clear if he had been released into the mother’s care.
