Can Kathy Griffin just go away already?
The nicest part of bringing in the new year was being able to watch the festivities without Griffin’s face filling the TV screen, and not having to watch her drag down Anderson Cooper, the man she dropped like a New Year’s Eve ball after he refused to defend her stupid President Trump severed head stunt nearly two years ago.
But Griffin has forced herself back into our consciousness again, this time launching a Twitter attack against “Avengers” and “Hotel Rwanda” star Don Cheadle — for not defending her stupid President Trump severed head stunt.
Griffin, a comedian, earned a spot on the permanent loser’s list in May 2017 after she posted on social media a horrific and shocking photo of her posing with a bloody mask representing a beheaded Trump.
Even Trump’s toughest critics were turned off by the offensive display, which features a stone-faced Griffin holding aloft the fake Trump head like a terrorist inspiring her twisted troops. Griffin later said she was sorry, then yanked the apology, and whined that the White House was trying to kill her career.
Griffin, 58, is still whining. This time she’s just attacking a different Don.
It all started Tuesday when Cheadle, 54, an activist, posted a picture of himself wearing a cap in support of a campaign against bigotry and sexism, and Griffin accused him of being a “phony.”
“Oh GREAT Don,” Griffin tweeted in reply to his post. “I will never forgive you for your nasty tweet the day my smear campaign started. You know it was a f—ing smear campaign and you have never taken a moment to apologize. Some liberal you are. Yes, my memory is long my ex friend. Shame on you. I kept a list. Fear me.”
Cheadle replied as only a sane person could: “Huh?”
Then Griffin called him a “d–k” on Twitter, insisting if the tables were turned, she would “defend you & the 1st amendment.”
Cheadle has this tweeting thing down. First, he says, they were never really friends.
“We had one conversation on a flight about our mutual disgust for individual 1,” he wrote, referring to Trump, “I don’t ‘friend’ that quickly so we can’t really be ‘exes.’ “
But if they were friends, he wrote, he would have tried to talk her out of the putrid prank.
“I would’ve said, well girl, be prepared to have the dogs sicced on you,” Cheadle wrote. “The secret service doesn’t play around with sh*t like that no matter WHO the president is. you’re also risking your career for what i see as zero upside. “
“Taking every opportunity to oppose him and support those looking to unseat him, IS defending you” Cheadle wrote, “albeit not your personal, cringe worthy photo-op.”
Now, you’ve gone and done it, Don. Don’t be surprised if Griffin posts another severed head photo. This time, one of you.
