On Friday last week the president of united States, Donald Trump has approved the $8 billion sale of F-16 fighter jet to Taiwan. US has been the main arms supplier to Taiwan and the plan to sale 66 fighter jets will be the largest single arms transaction between united States and Taiwan.

However, China who sees Taiwan as a break away that will eventually be part of his country again warned US to not sell F-16 jet to Taiwan.

A spokeswoman for China’s Foreign Ministry, Hua Chunying told the reports on Friday that” the US arms sale to Taiwan severely violated the one-China principal”.

Hua Chunying, said that her government was urging the US to “refrain” from selling the ” fighter jet to Taiwan and stop arms sales to and military contact with Taiwan otherwise, the Chinise side will surely make strong reactions and the US will have to bear all the consequences. “

The sale is expected to further escalate a trade war between US and China.
